Steven Hall is a writer working in books, TV and video games. His first novel, The Raw Shark Texts, won the Borders Original Voices Award, the Somerset Maugham Award and was shortlisted for the Arthur C. Clarke Award. The book has been translated into thirty languages.

His second novel, Maxwell's Demon, was shortlisted for the Encore Award called 'a dazzlingly smart postmodern treat' by The Observer, and 'Superb' by The Telegraph.  

As a screenwriter,  Steven is currently developing original TV and film projects with Apple, Element Pictures (Poor Things), Eleven (Sex Education), Broke & Bones (Black Mirror), Bad Robot (Lost), A24 (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Sony and Hasbro.

He was also the lead writer on the videogames Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 5, and and a writer on Nike’s World Cup short, The Last Game. Steven received a Writer's Guild Award nomination for his work on Battlefield 1.

In 2013, Steven was named as one of Granta Magazine’s Best of Young British Novelists.
